Just yesterday, Tudou.com (the biggest china video sharing site) announce to spend 1Million dollar to enhance their content and aim at separate the distance with other competitor.

When we talk about SNS, people may undoubtedly to think about Facebook, Myspace, Friendster and Twitter.  SNS becomes a part of our life, we also share the information, activities, photo, get the friends and may even the job from those platforms. At the same time, more and more enterprise use the Facebook, Twitter and the blog as a social media tools to do the advertisement and marketing. Social Media converts the Traditional Business Model to be more interactive to their targeted and potential clients.

In China, the SNS typhoon is also on fire, With the copy model and localized creativities and selling strategies,   most of the 350 milliion internet users have been tried and might be addicted to the SNS Platforms such as RenRen, Kaixin, QQZone…etc. However, most of the  momentum of using those SNS Platforms might be fun (most people spends the time on Games such as Happy Farm and Parking War), people still doesn’t have a better understanding to utilize the SNS as the tools for social media marketing for the business use.

In US, Dell could get a million of sales by using the SNS, Obama won the president by using SNS, thousand of idols setup their twitter and fanclub on facebook, we foresee there is a great potential the development on SNS in China.

Alexa.com just launches their Official China site(http://cn.alexa.com).  Alexa is already well-known in China Web market and most of site owner would use alexa as their benchmark  for their position in the world.  While some WSJ investors would even use the information of Alexa to evaluate the value of a site. Till today, it is still an important traffic analysis tool for most of the people.

However, the competition of “traffic analysis tool” is hot in China.  The biggest Challenge is there are many well established and localized sites for the traffic analysis area.

www.chinarank.org.cn is one of biggest China traffic analysis site and it hosted by Internet Society of China. With the support by the Government, the position of www.chinarank.org.cn is important among the China web site.

For other related competitor such as 51.la (a tools like Google Analytics) and Baidu Index also played important role for the China web.

Can Alexa play smoothly in china? It also depends if they could localize himself in China and if they could maintain a good relationship with China Government (you may take an example of myspace china and google china).

By the way,  this is a good news to heard Alexa Launch their China site. It also prove that the Web business of China become more and more important. We believe the movement of Alexa could have a positive impact to the China Web business.

You may normally use MSN, AIM, Yahoo or even Gtalk to communicate with your friends, however, you have to know to use QQ (by Tencent) if you would like to make friends or business in China.
